They are biscuits not bread and have always been mis-labelled, perhaps it's time we recognise them as 'ginger biscuit person' at long last.

The only anatomically correct gingerbread men I've ever seen was when DH thought it would be hysterical to ice genitals onto the gingerbreadmen I'd made for the school fayre but generally speaking I'd say person is more correct, otherwise you're assuming anyone not wearing a skirt is a man.

The push for gingerbread person has been around for decades. I remember it from being a kid in the 80s.

Personally I prefer it. It gives me more permission to choose if I want to think of it as a woman or a man, or a particularly annoying boy down the road as I bite its head off.
