I had a job interview today.

I feel it went ok. He kept on talking about “when you work for us” etc. i won’t get too excited but this has made me so anxious….

what if I don’t get the job. What if I can’t do the job. Now I’m analysing everything I said and did.

Been at my present company for 3 years. Not sure what I want to do… only applied for this job.

Congrats

If you get the job, do not go with the mindset that you might not be up to it - you’ll be fine, the jobs been given to you on merit.

I also had an interview today, it was a disaster of epic proportions. So at least yours went well!

I think everyone has that element of self doubt on reflection. “If only I’d said x instead of y”.

like with starting any new role, I think more people get “imposter syndrome” than we think.

It sounds really promising - well done!! Also remember that feelings are totally separate from your actual performance. You feel anxious now - that's fine, but this doesn't affect any outcome! If you don't get the job (and I bet you do) never mind, you're in employment anyway. If you do - yay, well done! If you can smash the interview you can definitely do the job. x

Did they say when they would be getting back to you with their decision?

Plan what you will do/say if they offer you the job, and plan what you will do if they don't offer you the job.

I don’t know what to do….. either way.

there should be a helpline for this haha

Is it the sort of role that is likely duplicated? Or more importantly is it a role that would/could be seen as an overhead?

No harm in asking them if they phone and offer.

lovemelongtime · 02/12/2022 07:47

Think about why you applied for the job in the first place. If necessary write down the benefits or attractions Vs any negatives so you can get your head straight ahead of any potential offer. Good luck. Sometimes though need to jump into the unknown.

If they offer you the role I'd be asking about this merger most definately
