Toy knife in primary school

Hi please could you tell me if I'm being silly or not about this?

A girl in my daughter's school (year 6 primary) brought a toy knife into school and pretended to stab some children at lunchtime as a joke. The teachers were unaware.

I didn't bother saying anything to the school at the time. But then this child hurt my child today, in an unprovoked attack. I've told my daughter to just stay out of her way, play with other people. Am I being a bit silly to think I should tell the school this kid brought a toy knife in last week? I don't want to sound petty. It was only a toy!
It's just playing on my mind because this child is a bit of a bully, she's quite mean but not so brazen about it. It wouldn't surprise me at all if she smuggled a real knife into school to appear threatening.

You need to be clear that it isn't the toy knife you're bothered about it's the pretending to stab people.
I'd mention it because as a teacher is view it as a safeguarding issue; it's peer to peer intimidation

Primary school teacher here. Please do mention it to the school. I'm aware of some incidents recently in primary schools involving knives. It's not unheard of and this behaviour needs to be logged and a close eye kept on for any escalation.

Mention it as part of the conversation about how they are going to ensure your DD’s safety. Agree it’s not the knife, it’s the stabbing that’s the problem!

Thanks I'll do this. It's really helpful to get your thoughts on it

Need to tell the school there might be other things with the child and this might act as A piece in the jigsaw.

How on Earth does a 6 year old child know what stabbing looks like, let alone what stabbing is.

very concerning and I’d very much mention in to the school.
