Someone I know has been bringing people illegally to the UK. The person is an immigration lawyer and committed romance fraud to gain their own immigration status. The woman he use for his documents now suffers from mental illnesses. Now they have fraudulently brought a woman from their own country using sham marriage. I have prove of the relationship. If I was to report this person to crime stoppers what would happen? The woman he brought is also involved in money laundering.

Report it.

Ahwelltoobad · 30/11/2022 03:49

Yes, do report it.

holierthanthou73 · 30/11/2022 06:22

Do you really need to ask, surely the answer is obvious

Improvement4life · 04/12/2022 10:04

The question is not to report rather what will happen when I report and submit the evidences I have with my report.
because I have heard sham marriage reports are not taken seriously by the UK authorities. Is that true?

Report it.

Improvement4life · 04/12/2022 15:40

Will the report be taken seriously? I heard HO doesn't take it seriously if the person is already in the UK

No-one here has a crystal ball but why wouldn't you try reporting anyway and see what happens?

In fact what's taking you so long?

Is that a joke? The home office deports people all the time. My main concern here is human trafficking so you should report immediately.

WoolyMammoth55 · 04/12/2022 15:47

As well as to HO you can report him to the SRA and they will investigate the legal malpractice - he would then be unable to practice law.

purplecorkheart · 04/12/2022 15:52

Report giving as much detail as possible. Unless the person you were speaking to works directly for home office they are just saying what they think happens rather than fact.

Thank you for the link

I already reported the people involved was only wondering if it will be taken serious. As someone said the HO doesn’t take sham marriage and marriage of convenience seriously.
