Posting for traffic.

I have a test this week at Mill Hill and I just don't know how I'm going to pass.

I find my instructor to be contradictory and I dont know if its me or nerves or what.

I'm treating it as a expensive practice test.

I've got mine next week and it really depends on the day. Have you done a mock? I did got 1 serious and 5 minors so failed. Still have 7hrs lessons before mine though.

If you don't get on well with your instructor can you move to a different one (if you fail)? Good luck in the test!

I finally passed aged 30 (a while ago now) after some fails at 18 and again before the final pass.
I just took the view that I would do it again and again until I passed so it didn't feel like such a big deal, was just another test and likely not the last.
That did calm me a bit as I knew id keep going no matter what.
I could drive fine by the point but the nerves of and pressure of the whole thing!!! Hardest thing I'd had to do.

Good luck

I told myself that all the other idiots on the road had passed their test. And if they could, I could.

You see some genuinely awful, shit driving. And those people passed (i assume some will be driving without a license, but they must be in the minority).

Good luck, it's a huge deal and totally understandable to be nervous. I would suggest doing a mock test with your instructor - I did one and failed it BADLY. It was good to get that out of the way because things could only get better from there! Passed my test first time, yes it was very scary but keep your cool and remember everything you have learned

Took me a few goes! Rescue remedy helped.

I think only something like 45% of drivers pass first time so don't be worried if you don't.

It's a really strange test as the examiners don't speak other than to give you instruction so that in itself is an odd experience. (Or it was for me as my driving instructor was dead chatty).

Shesasuperfreak · 28/11/2022 09:48

I havent done a mock test yet. We have been spending every lesson the past few weeks going to the test centre for 2hr.

I must've spend over £1000 on lessons.

I just relaxed and pretended it was another lesson. Got on well with the examiner and we were chatting. I thought I'd failed early on when I clipped a curb. Something I'd not done in lessons. But passed.
