Totally in the wrong place I know but desperation posting in aibu for traffic. Can someone please tell me if I can give another dose of the salbutamol reliever inhaler after 4 hours? Previously given 10 puffs almost 4 hours ago due to loud wheeze and rapid breathing which relieved symptoms but now 4 hours later same symptoms have returned. Thanks

How is your DC now? Nothing worse than this time of year for admissions

We haven’t been discharged yet. She had a few episodes of low oxygen overnight and needed her oxygen switched on again during this time so they will be hanging onto us for another while to monitor her. Apart from that she is much better, she’s off the nebs and back on to her inhalers, her wheezing has stopped and her chest sounds clear. They have started her on montelukast as of last night and are sending the asthma nurses round to speak to us on the ward. She is much brighter today and just seems much more herself, been such a worry. Thanks all

Good to hear. Just watch out for any side effects of montelukast. If her behaviour changes do report it to your GP/Consultant. X

Very glad to hear she is doing better. You will probably need longer to recover from the fright, mind yourself too☕🍰💐
