In not feeling festive about Christmas?

DH and DD1 are currently working on putting up the Christmas decorations and tree in our house. Normally I would be all over it but I am struggling to be motivated.

We had DD2 several weeks ago and since her birth, I've had a rollercoaster with mental and physical health.

I am having physio on my back and hips due to the pregnancy/ labour (i mentioned this in a thread recently). The pain is more manageable and the painkillers are helping. I have now caught a bug off DH and lost my voice.

With my mental health, I had the post baby blues then felt like I was dealing with PND soon afterwards and been up and down since.

Prior to DD2's birth, I had prepared some things for christmas in advance to feel organised but now it feels chaotic and still need to buy stuff. I have lost enthusiasm for Christmas and not sure if the PND gremlin is affecting things.

i had my baby on the 16th of December last year.
we had such a quiet Christmas, I really didn’t feel festive at all.

don’t beat yourself up, your body is recovering.
I remember crying my eyes out with the baby blues while I was wrapping on Christmas Eve. Honestly, Christmas next year will be so special.
just prioritise your mental health, mine was awful until 9 months PP. I wish I had focused on it sooner.
sending you lots of love x

What you’re feeling is completely normal! You gave birth five minutes ago, you’re ill, you’re exhausted! And you expect yourself to feel all festive? Bollocks to that! No additional pressures on yourself to do or be or feel any other way than you are, please OP - rest as much as you can.
