To ask for your advice - NHS interview!

I have an interview for a support role in the NHS this week. I have to do a presentation that shows how I meet KITE values. No advice on ‘must knows’ - values, safeguarding etc? Also I’m SE but put down my last employer as a reference - however the manager has left that role and nobody else worked closely with me. It says in the interview letter that they’ll check my reference for the dates I worked there but will they also not need a reference asking about me as an employee? I can get one from the Chair of the Board but he won’t have access to HR systems so wouldn’t know when I worked there from.

Most references these day are solely the dates the employee worked there- so long as someone at the company can get the dates it doesn't matter about anything else

One from HR is pretty standard. Just put the companies HR email down.

NHS references are very basic IME. They ask the dates you worked and your sick record in the last year/2 years and not much else really.

Good luck for your interview.

HR references only are quite standard in the NHS. Confirm start and finish date and that you weren't subject to any investigations or disciplinary action. Everything else is subjective and people lie on references. Although I saw a copy of one of mine a few years ago that was sent in error. My manager added in 'sickness was a problem'. I was seriously ill when I worked there and had two relatively short sickness absence periods considering how ill I was, including being hospitalised. I was furious she'd written that but she was sulking because she didn't want me to leave.
Re your KITE values, have an example prepared for each of them so you aren't thinking on your feet. Good luck!
