Am I in the wrong or is he?

DH went out to the pub around 3.30pm. Told me he wouldn't be long and would be back "soon".
Around 9.30pm, one of his friends who he was with calls me to ask me if he's back home because he's wandered off and hasn't heard from him for the past 40 minutes and he's not answering their calls.
I then call my DH continuously, out of worry because this isn't like him at all. Around 10 missed calls later, nothing. His friend calls me back and says that he's still not heard from him since he's "gone missing".

I finally get through to my DH and he's walking home, around 5 minutes from home but having a go at ME for calling him so many times.

I tried to explain that I was worried anything could have happened to him. It's not like him to miss so many calls and to also just go AWOL and not like him to walk home either. He claims he told his friends that he was going home but they were so drunk they forgot. He comes home and he's absolutely drunk out of his face, can barely walk straight.

AIBU in this situation or is he?!

What do you think?

He is, but he’ll have forgotten by the morning. Not worth having an argument over, really. I’d just do some 8am hoovering and curtain-opening tomorrow.

He is defo being unreasonable. He shouldn't be so drunk that he's disappearing and not answering his phone. How far away do you live from the pub?

Cw112 · 27/11/2022 01:20

He's in the wrong. He's also plastered so cannot see that he's in the wrong. I'd pour him into bed and then have a conversation about how in the wrong he is tomorrow.

Thank you for the replies! I knew he was in the wrong - I guess I just wanted to vent but also hear others opinions. DH is still asleep so would be interesting to see what he can remember (if anything) when he gets up!

@Milkytractor he went to a few different pubs in the end and the one he was last at is around a 45 minute walk home.
