Do you know who cant strike? The unpaid carers. We get £69.70 a week. We supposedly care for 35 hours a week, but I personally do a lot more than that and care for 2 people, though am only allowed to claim for one lot of carers allowance, plus I can't save for a pension, so will have to rely on the state pension.
I could work a little to top up my carers allowance but I'm too tired due to my caring roles, and I'm now dealing with my own ill health.
So, I can't strike, who would take care of my loved ones if I did?
So dear Governement, would you consider upping carers allowance to a livable wage please? And possibly a pension a package too?
