Regular cleaner brilliant but becoming unreliable as she’s taken some agency work.
Tried an agency through bark. Discussed what I wanted and the man said he’d bring two cleaners and could do the following day (first red flag!) I said my usual cleaner does it in 3 hours but I’d allow 4.
He over an hour late, I just assumed he was a no-show, then got lost, twice, because he was too impatient to follow directions and kept driving past my house. Told me my postcode was wrong. It isn’t. Arrived with one “cleaner” who he didn’t introduce. She seemed ok I assumed they’d both be cleaning. Walked him around and he didn’t object to anything or say it wasn’t achievable.
I was working from home and had some calls then 3 hours later I was conscious they were still “working” and hadn’t achieved an awful lot. No ironing, the downstairs had barely been touched. There was so much banging I thought they’d broken something! I started worrying at this point that I was going to be paying the equivalent of 6 hours already and they had just decided I could afford it and were hanging around.
Clean was ok - but lots missed, like wiping mirrors down, I don’t think the bath had been done, bins missed, shower wasn’t really clean, like I say they hadn’t done downstairs (including loo and kitchen so main areas) so I think they pushed the hoover round and changed two beds. They’d moved plenty around so it looked messy - like photo frames and candles just moved and left.
I asked them to leave - I said I can’t pay for two cleaners for 3 hours (6 hours equivalent) and it’s not finished yet - we agreed 4. They kept asking me if the clean was ok, asking me to go look around, quite aggressively, I said it was fine as I felt uncomfortable and just wanted them out my house. I asked how much I owed them and they couldn’t seem to agree how long they’d been there or what their charge was. So I gave a figure and they agreed. They asked again if the clean was ok and if I would leave a review. Then started to leave. Then asked for a drink? I started to feel quite vulnerable then as they came back into the house to have a drink when they had been putting their shoes on at the door. Told me to wish my children well for them (they weren’t there and they’ve never met) and then left, asking if I needed them back.
Anyway. Maybe OTT but felt so uncomfortable and really wish I hadn’t let them in my home. They had a few reviews so thought they were legit but it was such a strange experience. I’ve looked them up and they’ve ran in some capacity for a while. But have changed names and rebranded a lot.
