Is this dangerous?

Wanting to buy a sleeping bag for my 7 month old dd. She is very small for her age (currently still in 3-6 clothing) but I feel like a 3-6 sleeping bag wouldn't last long and I'd have to buy another one before the end of winter. The next size up is 6-18 months however which looks huge for her and seems like a massive range - big size difference between a 6 month old and an 18 month old I would have thought? I wondered if it'd be dangerous to put her in the bigger size in case she slips down into it? Is this possible if they have the shoulder straps?

Yeah it could be too big, try it on her and if it's loose around the arms or neck and could ride up then its dangerous. Get one with buttons under the arms and that could help. You might be OK though mine has been in a 6-18 months one since 5 months. Only way to know is to try it on.

When mine were little they had sleeping bags that lasted from 6 to 18m. The bottom folded up with poppers, so it was short enough that they could not skip down in it, and we could lengthen it as they grew.

If you're worried that the sleeping bag is too long, you could do the same by folding up the bottom and pinning it with nappy pins (the safety pins with plastic locking caps).

Try different brands, I definitely had 6-12 sleeping bags.
