We have recently moved from a detached house to a semi. The noise from the neighbours is atrocious - we have lived in semis in the past and I can’t remember having to deal with anything like this. They aren’t doing anything particularly wrong but we can hear absolutely everything they do despite the boundary wall being solid. Conversations can be heard word for word. DD’s bedroom is the worst - I have had to buy her noise cancelling earphone to sleep/relax with as the neighbour seems to take all of her work phone calls in the room opposite. It’s getting to a point where we are constantly on edge in our own home and I’m not sure I can take it for the year of our rent.
Would it be unreasonable to ask the landlord to fit some soundproofing/ ask neighbours to have a bit of courtesy in the mornings + at night?
