To be worried about this so much

So I had the copper coil fitted a year ago as I knew I didn’t want any more children after my second child. Everything has been fine for a year but this month I have spotted between my period. I went to the gynaecologist who said the coil was in place, smears up to date etc. she said my cervix looks fine but I can’t stop thinking what if I have cervical cancer, I suffer from anxiety and do generally worry about this stuff anyway.

I'm a massive health worrier too, but if you've been checked then it sounds fine. When I worry about health things I try to think rationally to calm down. In your case, you've been checked, you're up to date with smears and the gynaecologist says your cervix looks fine. Spotting with the coil can occur and it can happen after a while.

Have the coil removed; ask your partner to have a vesectomy.
