Halal/kosher and dog’s bone question

If you are halal/kosher, would you have a problem with a friend’s dog chewing on a pig’s bone in your house?

I think my dog sitter is Muslim. Don’t know if she keeps halal. I asked her if it’s fine to bring my puppy with his favourite chew toy (pig’s hoof), she said yes it’s fine, but I’m worried she was just being polite.

Puppy has other chew toys, but far prefers the hoof over anything else and will go at it for much longer. It will be his first time with the dog sitter.

WWYD? Thank you

Ask her. I wouldn't have described an actual bone as a toy so she may not have made the connection.

I specifically said it’s a pig’s bone and asked if that was okay. I also said I was asking as wanted to make sure she didn’t have an objection for religious/vegetarian reasons. She said it was fine.

Well if you specifically asked and she said it was fine then its fine.

Thanks, there’s a good chance I’m over analysing!

You asked and she said it was fine. End of the matter.

Why do you think she’s Muslim? Does she come to your house or you bring your dog to hers? Muslims shouldn’t have dogs in the house religiously speaking, so if she is Muslim and has dogs at her home, she’s probably quite chilled so doesn’t really mind?

but from a religious point of view it’s permissible to feed animals all sorts of meat, including that which is impermissible for humans such as pork. So in summary, it’s nbd, don’t over think it :) x

@Mvslimah , thank you. Her children have Muslim names. I know dogs are haram, but she said she grew up with dogs. You’re right, I’m just going to chill!

It’s more dogs in the home is haram or dogs without a purpose rather than the dog itself but either way dogs owned by Muslims can be fed pork so it’s all good! X
