To ask if this needs an x Ray?

Slipped on stairs Sunday and clonked my head right on the brow bone.

Had deep cut stuck back together at minor injuries. Have since had swelling and bruising. Vision a bit blury, can't move my eye much, not that sore though.

DH says its a black eye and to out some peas on it.

MIL (former nurse, likes the medical stuff) says could have fractured the eye socket.

Also cracked some ribs so don't fancy sitting in A&E for 10 hours (that REALLY hurts). I hate the place at the best of times thanks to horrible experience in that hospital. These days it's practically a war zone.

If you can get into your GP they can refer you for an xray where you just go straight to xray department rather than A&E.

Some minor injuries units have x-ray facilities - can you get to one of those, rather than A&E? Waiting times will be much better there.

Doctor here- I rarely comment on here. Please go to a&e. Not minors or your GP- but a&e. Blurred vision after this sort of injury will be taken seriously. Don't mess around
