... another cleaners one.

I'll try to keep it short and sweet.

We have a cleaner who comes once a week for 2 hours. We got him via an agency we pay monthly. We've previously had other cleaners and we were very happy with them. They left for external reasons (one finishing college and the other one finding a job elsewhere).

This new one, he is nice but always arrives 10min late and always leaves 10min before the 2 hours. His cleaning is okay but not amazing, so it is not (in my opinion) the case of being extremely efficient.

Am I being very petty for being annoyed for paying 2 hours clean and receiving 1hr40min? or is this an acceptable standard?

So many people being taken advantage of! I wonder if its the same cleaner??

Costings not coatings

If they leave 20 mins early from each job and they have four jobs a day, they are banking an hour and 20 minutes every single day, paid free time!

That is over six hours a week, and that equates to a full day's work every week being paid to do absolutely nothing.

Disgraceful and dishonest, even from the very best cleaners. It shows contempt at best.

I'd expect a cleaner to ask if there's anything else that needs doing before leaving early and to apologise and make up the time if they arrived late.

Ditch this cleaner OP, they are clearly not motivated to do a good job for you.

I'd rather pay more per hour and get a good service than have a cheap half arsed service. Are you paying well for the job?

Hi all, thanks for all the useful replies.

Now that it looks like I am not being unreasonable I will speak to him and with the agency too.

We pay the agency monthly something around £40 and the cleaner directly £21 per clean (2hrs). We only used the agency because we had a nightmare finding a cleaner, everyone else we contacted directly was too busy and didn't have any availability. Even the agency struggled for a while to get a cleaner for us.

Today he arrived 30 min late because he didn't sleep well last night...
