To call in sick?

I've been working for a company now for around 6 months, I work closely with HR from time to time as have experience and it's a relatively new company.
I've never taken a sick day, it's frowned upon quite badly. I've felt really unwell all day at work today, I feel like I should take tomorrow off, I have 2 young kids & im a single parent, so I don't really have 'rest days' & would never usually have the day off over a cold. I'm more worried about what the others will think if I call in...

Do it and weather the atmosphere. You owe it to yourself, I think 1 day off now = less days off later as you will get a day (or even 2!) to recover.
You could always white lie and say its diarrhoea which ses highly contagious- no one wd want you in!
