To hate food right now?

I am so sick of all food, nothing sounds nice, everything tastes the same. If I've had something once I've had it a million times. I'm just so fed up with food. I sick of carbs, I'm sick of veg, I'm sick of meat, I'm sick of fish, I'm sick of pasta. All flavours sound bland. I never fancy anything and I can't remember the last time I ate something and thought oh my god that was amazing.

Anyone else?

I have days like that....usually end up having a few days of cereal three times a day. Sometimes I think its the monotony of having to think about what to cook/eat that hits.

It does pass, but its frustrating!

Moraxella · 21/11/2022 16:11

yes but I am pregnant. It is really depressing!

Nippynopnop · 21/11/2022 16:21

When I feel like that I tend to make a spicy curry or dhal. Or a Thai green curry.

Igotthegoose · 21/11/2022 16:21

Yep me. I haven’t had an appetite for going on two months now, I have to force myself to eat. Today I’ve had a packet of noodles and a bowl of mushy peas and I didn’t even want those. It’s very depressing when you don’t enjoy your food.

CMOTDibbler · 21/11/2022 16:24

I was totally bored of what we were eating, but doing Gousto boxes for a bit has really helped jazz things up a bit

WHEREEL · 21/11/2022 16:24

Yes. When I’m stressed the medication I take stops me wanting to eat. I haven’t had lunch in 3 weeks and I hate it

Rubbishname101 · 21/11/2022 16:25

I’m feeling the same. I’ve just been out into the kitchen, stared into the fridge and cupboards - ended up with a handful of pecans and walked back out

Faez · 21/11/2022 16:28

I haven't eaten yet today and genuinely can't think of anything I'd like. Was eating Toblerone last night and tried to recall how much I loved it growing up. It makes me sad 😥

What is going on with us all?

I got like this when the kids were little and we were in a rota of familiar dishes that worked for them (spaghetti bolognese, cottage pie, bangers and mash etc.). The time came when I thought I would scream if I saw another potato.

Two things helped me:

Only eating when I was hungry. That meant a lot less snacking and much smaller potions than I ever would have thought. It also meant that when I sat down for a meal I was actually hungry and looking forward to it.

I ate things I fancied rather than what the kids would tolerate. And I fancied much simpler food - for example, a green salad with steak seasoned with bucket load of salt. A vegetable soup. A supper of cheese and fruit.

HTH

COVID?

PeloFondo · 21/11/2022 16:33

I get like that every so often. Where you walk around the supermarket and are "meh" at everything

RudsyFarmer · 21/11/2022 16:47

I agree. I eat the same not particularly nice tasting stuff every single day.
