I am FREEZING!!!!! Didn't realise my extra 2 stone of padding last year was actually very helpful!

Feel I've been duped! Noone told me I'd be this cold 😬❄️❄️❄️❄️

Yes! Lost 5 stone and now always cold. It’s especially bad at first. Currently wearing fingerless gloves in the house.

Yep same here! And my bum really hurts if I sit for too long in one position! Had to buy a cushion.

picklemewalnuts · 21/11/2022 16:38

I think my circulation is better, 5.5 stone down. I'm still not feeling the cold.

Are you reasonably active?

Then again, even with the weight I've lost I'm still overweight. Maybe that's why.

ThirtyThreeTrees · 21/11/2022 16:47

I'm a half stone overweight & been trying to lose it but after reading this I think I've been inspired to stop and wait until the weather improves!!!! Any excuse!

BloodAndFire · 21/11/2022 16:52

I've always been at the low end of normal weight or slightly underweight (other than during and right after pregnancies) and suffer terribly from the cold, I get raynauds syndrome too. It all contributes to quite severe seasonal depression.

That's why I really really hate the "cosy/hygge/hot choccie" bullshit threads and also hate the people who moan about the occasional warm weather we get here.

I've definitely noticed that most of those loving winter and cursing summer are overweight.

This year I'm heavier than usual, bmi 20.5 (usually 18-19) and I'm definitely coping with the cold a bit better. But I fucking hate how I look and feel 😔

I am a size 8 who is always cold but I love winter and hate summer!

Decent thermals, layers and staying active are the three best solutions.

The hardest thing I find is that once you're cold, it's bloody hard to warm up. Sometimes, I have to have a very quick hot shower to kickstart warming up.

My poor SIL is a ballet dancer and she has next to no body fat. We did a muddy 12k challenge thing recently and she turned blue with cold. It was a warmish day.

M&S thermal plus undies make a perfect substitute for my lost insulation. And I can take 'em off anytime I get too hot.

Not the top of my list of best benefits but it's up there

I'm in peri menopause and frozen all day, until I go to bed and then it feels like I'm in a heatwave. Really bloody annoying. I'm carrying a bit of extra weight and have taken to wearing a hooded blanket. Caught sight of myself in the full length mirror and it wasn't pretty 😭But it does help with keeping me warm and I can throw it off in the evening as I get hotter.
