Weird compliments

Been called gentrified. Perhaps that wasn't a compliment. I think they were trying to be nice.

What weird compliment you had? 🤣

"You smoke like a posh person"

Oh, you are very brave. After I had changed my hair colour from blonde to burgundy 🤔

Friends neighbour who I don't know, but say hello to if I see her outside: "how come you look so short today? It must be your clothing. " I state that yes, I'm in scruffy joggers today. Her response "at least you smell clean."

Not sure that is a compliment, in hindsight!

'Oh ToWhitToWhoo, little ToWhitToWhoo! You're almost as tall as a telegraph pole!' (Said very admiringly by a younger cousin, when I was about 15. I'm of average height, but was older and therefore taller than her.)

Said about me, by a friend: 'ToWhitToWhoo is very clever. She can quote Shakespeare, and she knows all about the (2016) American elections!' (Both true, but not the things that I'd most expect to be known for!)
