Had to cancel DD’s play date as my sister was taken to hospital in a serious accident and I had to pick up her kids.Mum of DD’s friend sent me messages for hours asking when I’d be able to pick friend up, where was I and said instead of taking the kids home, I should bring the kids to her house so play date could carry on. We’re all tired and terrified. Am I just being over sensitive or is she just being really selfish to think that a play date is important right now?
Don’t want to fall out with her but she’s stressing me out now with all her messages

Have you clearly explained to her what's gone on? If you have, then she sounds like an idiot.

Possibly she thinks offering to have the kids would be helpful? Just send a firm text saying the playdate will have to wait for another weekend and you'll get back to her when things are less stressful.

"MY SISTER HAS BEEN IN A FUCKING ACCIDENT. STOP MESSAGING ME."
