Thinking of keeping DC off pre school

I am certainly no germaphobe (we are a country livestock family) and have faith in our healthy living keeping us from getting sick often.....

However this weekend DC is sick and I have a C section booked in just over 2 weeks and it got me thinking (pre school also told me they have a chicken pox outbreak). She was a summer baby so I didn't worry about getting sick before having her however I am feeling like keeping her off pre school and activities and sticking to the beach, the country parks and wooden play grounds till after my C section and give myself a week or so recovery. I don't want to be sick coming up to my section and I don't want to leave my sister in law with a sick child. DH will still be going to work though.

Am I being ridiculous or would you consider doing this too?

I think that's fine, I kept DC2 off nursery (day nursery , not school) for a week last yeqr before a flight as we had to do pcr tests the day before the flight.

Id probably do the same aswell. The nursery bugs are relentless and if its eases your stresses, do it for sure

Thank you for your replies. Worth missing child free time for organising I feel.
There are things I've paid for that we will still do (gymnastics, swimming etc) but those are like an hour or so, not entire days with 40 other snotty kids 🤣🤣
