Tesco delivery still not arrived

Would I be unreasonable to just lock up house and go to bed?
Delivery was due between 10-11pm, I got a message around 7.30pm saying my delivery was delayed due to a breakdown and was now due by 11.30pm and they would contact me again if anything changed. Fine, I understand things don't got to plan even though it is less than ideal.

It is now nearly midnight, I am exhausted and want to go to bed, delivery hasn't arrived and I tried calling the helpline to find it is only open until 11pm!!
I have had zero contact from the driver to update me.
So, can I just go to my bed do you thibk and leave a note on door saying I no longer want the food? Will I get a refund? I can't physically stay up much longer

This happened to me once. Turned out it got that late and they couldn't get here they rescheduled it for the next day. I got loads of vouchers as an apology. I don't think they would deliver after 11.30

no I haven't, guess someone else must have had the same issue. they could have at least messaged to let me know as I know the drivers have customer numbers

Can I ask what happened with your order OP?

Mine was supposed to arrive between 9-10. I got a text message earlier to say they were running late and would be here by 10.35. Ive not heard anything since and it’s 11.10! Desperate to go to bed and I’m ill, kids are all ill and fed up of waiting not even knowing if it’s going to turn up or not.

Tesco did this to me twice and the second time refused to refund the delivery charge. First time we went to bed and the second time we had to go out. I had to "remind" them about the consumer act/contract law and they did refund me.

Final time was a few months ago - DH had an offer and only ordered wine. They sent a different wine and we just gave up.
