Breast lump

loupielou1 · 18/11/2022 21:44

Has anyone had a pea sized lump under breast tissue? It's flat but can feel lump under the tissue. It was swollen and tender a week or so ago and I thought I had just got bitten by something... but now it doesn't hurt but it's bleeding. I only realised when I saw blood on my bra. It purple and has a hole. I have been putting plasters on as it continues to bleed. This has been a few days now. Any advice? I will go to the doctors if hasn't gotten better over the weekend

Sorry I want this to be replied to by more people but I don't know how and topics don't give much options! Any advice. Quite worried

Sounds like a small cyst

EsmeGythaMagrat · 18/11/2022 21:50

Please go and get it checked out asap. Your go should refer you to your local breast clinic. Don’t be afraid about wasting Antibes time, they love telling people that they don’t have cancer. If on the other hand, it is serious, you are in the right place.

As an aside, my breast tissue thickening/lump got bigger and smaller and sometimes hurt. Googling gave me the impression that all was fine… it wasn’t fine, it was the start of cancerous changes. Luckily after a mastectomy and reconstruction, they confirmed they had got it all and I’m fine bar tablets I take for the next five years.

Please, please get it checked.

Did yours start like this? As that's what I'm worried about! A family member of mine was young as I am and had cancer but unfortunately was too late.

Please get it checked. It's not normal for you and any changes should always get checked. Your GP should refer you for tests. Which will probably be ultrasound, mammogram and / or biopsy.

But whatever you do, get a professional to look at it

No, but that doesn’t mean anything. Get yourself checked asap and hopefully they can put your mind at rest.

Flowers For you, I know how worrying it can be.

caz198917 · 18/11/2022 22:20

Looks like a boil to me, but of course I am no expert

CharlotteUnaNatalieThompson · 18/11/2022 22:24

Go and see your GP.

I'm a breast cancer surgeon and that looks to me like a sebaceous cyst, which is a benign skin problem that can occur anywhere on your body. But your photo is a bit blurry so best get that confirmed by a doctor (plus, although I'm telling the truth, I could be anyone)

Woahtherehoney · 18/11/2022 22:24

I had something similar a few months ago - didn’t bleed but was incredibly painful and was so hot. Ended up in A&E as it was an abscess that needed draining and strong antibiotics. Please get it checked out, can never ever be too careful.

loupielou1 · 19/11/2022 18:06

Update it is now pussing white yellow gunk

OP I hope you are able to see a GP, sounds like it could be an infection.

@EsmeGythaMagrat can I ask about your situation please? I have an area of thickening, I had it checked last year and was confirmed all was fine but it feels to have got bigger and it often hurts. Was yours picked up on the first scan or was it ok and then changed? I think I've convinced myself I need to go to the GP but last year I was made to feel as though I was time wasting.

EsmeGythaMagrat · 20/11/2022 14:42

Hi @usernotfound0000 I did get mine picked up first time. Even though the GP reassured me that it didn’t seem to be anything sinister.
I had a biopsy that they did ‘just in case’ and unfortunately I was unlucky. Although I was very lucky that it could have been worse.
Did you have a biopsy taken last year? You should definitely go back if you aren’t happy and it’s changing again. Even if they rule out the worst they can at least sort out what it is.

Flowers For you, I hope you get sorted.

usernotfound0000 · 20/11/2022 14:50

Thanks for the quick reply. No, they did an ultrasound but no biopsy. They seemed quite happy that it was normal and healthy tissue. I know they always say that pain is good and doesn't ring their alarm bells but I've read a lot of peoples stories where they do have pain. I'm not sure if the changes could be linked to my menstrual cycle but I think I need to get it checked.

StuckAtWork123 · 20/11/2022 20:08

@usernotfound0000 if you feel it needs checking, get it checked. Never worry about time wasting if you have something that doesn't feel right for you. Ask for another ultrasound.

loupielou1 · 20/11/2022 22:54

I have found two holes now and it's weeping yellow and bloody watery discharge

OP posts:
ShuttersThatShut · 21/11/2022 00:35

It sounds infected. Can you get a GP appointment asap? If not then a walk in centre?

MintJulia · 21/11/2022 00:53

It sounds like an abscess or similar. Wash it with boiled, cooled water and some salt or a drop of dettol. Put a dressing on it, and then ask for a gp's appt.

KimberleyClark · 21/11/2022 05:32

Sounds like an abscess to me.

Invisimamma · 01/12/2022 22:36

Did you get this checked OP, what was the outcome?

loupielou1 · 04/12/2022 19:34

Yes gp gave me antibiotics and referral to a breast clinic. I've finished the antibiotics but it has come back bigger and has oozed more blood. I'm guessing I will have to go back to the gp

Hi, I have something similar to this. I've had antibiotics for it but they didn't work and now it's worse. It started small and painless but is now red and purple in the centre, small soft lump inside and quite painful if it's played with

Woahtherehoney · 25/04/2023 14:46

Mine looked very similar to this and antibiotics didn’t work for me either. I went to A&E on advice from my GP and I had an infected cyst which they had to draw out with a needle. I was in so much pain but as soon as they did that it got better. Please get it looked at asap!

Hey! I've been back to the doctors and they've given me co amoxyclav for now. Hopefully they clear it up, they've said it's definitely an infection so I'm just waiting to see what it looks like after the antibiotics
Thank you for your reply
