Just accidentally ate yoghurt that went out of date on the 9th November. Didn't even notice the date on it. Didn't taste bad, but was a bit watery.... I'm going on a weekend away this week....anyone think I'll get food poisoning from this? Might seem a stupid question but I'm panicking!!

I doubt it - if it'd be really off you'd have tasted it/noticed the mould.

Lcb123 · 18/11/2022 18:26

Nah I do that all the time, you would have smelt it it was off. I sometimes scrape mould off yoghurt and still eat it…

FluffyCat17 · 18/11/2022 18:28

Usually if it’s off the lid is domed or the yoghurt is fizzy so you should be fine.

carefulcalculator · 18/11/2022 18:29

If it tasted fine, it's fine.

Perennis · 18/11/2022 18:29

You'll be fine. Yogurts last ages after their expiry date

Egarag · 18/11/2022 18:57

It’ll be fine, so long as it looked, smelled and tasted ok, which I assume it did if you ate it.

ilovesooty · 18/11/2022 19:25

You'll be fine.

ChiefWiggumsBoy · 18/11/2022 19:27

I only don't eat yoghurt if it's mouldy or 'fizzy'. You'll be absolutely fine.

LuluBlakey1 · 18/11/2022 19:29

They keep for months. I have just eaten a pack of those bio ones with a prune layer that were 6 months out of date. Perfectly fine.

Robyn847 · 18/11/2022 19:55

Fizzy? No? You'll be reet.

Spanielsarepainless · 18/11/2022 19:58

Yoghurt is a means of preserving milk, originating in the Middle East. You'll be fine.

MarkBright · 18/11/2022 20:18

I've eaten them months out of date and they were fine. It's very obvious if they are off.

StickyCricket · 18/11/2022 20:21

I’m currently working my way through a huge tub of Greek yoghurt (Lidl in case anyone is interested, their Greek yoghurt is amazing!) for breakfast every day - the expiry date was 31st October.

Stardust35 · 18/11/2022 21:37

Thank you! You've reassured me! I'm not stressing about it now haha! Thank you!

I eat them over a month out of date. I realised my milk was a week over. It still smelt and tasted fine.

Greenalien1 · 18/11/2022 21:46

Repeating what others have said, if it tasted/smelt fine you'll be ok :) I thunk the worse that could happen is you may have the runs for a day but that's unlikely.
