I have a mole on the back of my thigh. Back in January, I found a hard lump underneath the mole. I did contact the GP by econsult, then by the day I received a phone call, the lump was pretty much gone (from what I recall) so I said I was fine not getting it checked out. I assumed it must have been some coincidental lump in the same area since it had virtually disappeared. Anyway, fast forward to tonight and I’ve felt an itch on my thigh and when Ive scratcher it, I’ve felt the same hard lump again.

Now I know this is silly but I didn’t even think about it after what I thought was a false alarm back in January. And now im panicking. What if it’s been like this for months? What if it’s cancer and I’ve just let it spread all that time? I am 34 years old with two kids.

Im really worried that this could be cancer. 😓 My husband is working away so I have no one to talk to and my anxiety is spiralling.

Can you see the mole? If you take a picture of it there are plenty if images and graphs to show you what a cancerous mole looks like. Im sure youre fine though.

Cancer doesn't really come and go. I'm not a qualified oncology doctor but get it seen, tell them the other issue you've had and take from there. I'd doubt it's anything to worry about, but absolutely get it seen for certain
Good luck

Try not to panic, easier said than done, I know. Chances are its nothing to worry about, but the sooner you get it checked the better.

Thanks all. It’s in a really hard spot for me to see. Will try taking a picture and getting a closer look at it.

As a sufferer of health anxiety, i really feel for you. It’s a horrible feeling…
Regarding your lump, I’m not a skin specialist but it doesn’t sound like anything ominous. I think the lump would have stayed if it was anything serious.
After having a skin lesion removed over the summer (which the doctor thought was cancerous -it wasn’t) I became quite the google expert 🙂
The chances are it’s nothing at all, but it won’t hurt to make an appointment to put your mind at rest x
