I took it out last night, placed it on my bedside table in the tub. Cannot find it this morning, tore the bedroom apart looking for it. Where the hell can it have gone?? (rather desperate here if you can’t tell!)

Should probably have added I’ve tore the bedroom apart looking for it. Looked in all drawers, under the bed, inside all the bedding etc. It seems to have vanished.

go and have a cup of tea and breathe

come back and it’ll be where you put it

ShimmeringShirts · 17/11/2022 09:10

@Allsnotwell ive looked in the tub countless times this morning, can guarantee it’s not there. Might have lost my teeth but my eyes still work Grin

Have you got pets? My dog once stole my mouth guard and it was under my bed.

Rightsaidmabel · 17/11/2022 09:14

Dressing gown pocket, inside pillow case ,on floor at the head of the bed, in bathroom near toothbrush.
It may have moved from where you put it as you knocked it off in your sleep, you may have lifted it in your sleep, or, last night, you didn't put it where you thought, but set it down on the way to placing it there.
It still exists, you'll find it.

HurricaneSugarcane · 17/11/2022 09:33

came to say pet too

CoffeandTiaMaria · 17/11/2022 09:34

In the bathroom/bathroom cabinet/laundry basket/dressing gown pocket?
Already in your mouth??

ShimmeringShirts · 17/11/2022 09:34

I have cats, one of them I would be suspicious of pinching it but he’s so wee that he could have hid it anywhere! He does like pinching socks and anything else he can stash away

OP posts:
columbo83 · 17/11/2022 10:01

Oh no have you found them yet?

ShimmeringShirts · 17/11/2022 10:04

Not yet! I’m getting rather desperate, I can’t go out without them and I can’t talk clearly either. It’ll take weeks to get a new one made, I can’t hide inside for that long!

OP posts:
columbo83 · 17/11/2022 10:46

Obvious one but have you checked the bin? And your cats beds?

BuryingAcorns · 17/11/2022 10:52

Have you checked the side of your bed, in the tiny gap between the ,attress and the bed frame? thgat's where my glasses hide when they fall off the bedside table and aren't on the floor. Not in the bedding but between frame and mattress?

Do you ever put them somewhere else like bathroom cabinet?
Did something distract you? Did you have them in your hand and go downstairs and just put them in the utility room or on the kitchen counter?
Do you have naughty children or an evil husband who might have taken them for a laugh?
Do you have old dentures that don't fit properly but that you can use as spares for a few days?

ShimmeringShirts · 17/11/2022 11:19

Checked everywhere suggested, no luck. We live in a flat which makes it easier, definitely had them on my bedside table in the tub at 10pm last night, none of the kids would admit to touching them and no DP thankfully.

It’s so stupid but it’s the straw that finally broke me after this year. Sat here in tears over it, think I’ve really hit my limit for coping. No one can understand me without them, I’m too embarrassed to speak even if they could.

OP posts:
Tiredmumno1 · 17/11/2022 11:38

I really feel for you and hoping they turn up.

Have you looked through all of your bed covers to make sure they are not caught up anywhere.

Just try and keep calm, and start again, slowly and thoroughly.

AFineBalance · 17/11/2022 11:41

Didn’t want to read and run. Sorry you’ve had a tough year 💐try and take a deep breath and start the search again. Literally tooth comb. Fold everything you’ve checked. Inch by inch round the whole place.

Runestone · 17/11/2022 11:48

When I cant find something I have a really good clean and tidy and things tend to just appear. Can take a while, but bonus is you'll probably find them and have a tidy sparkling clean house at the end.

It's horrible when things like this happen though, can tip you over from just about coping to spiralling into depression and despair. I feel for you and hope you find them soon

Runestone · 17/11/2022 11:48

Could you take up a mask wearing stance in the interim?

spannasaurus · 17/11/2022 11:50

Did you have a mug or glass on the bedside table that you might have put the dentures in?

Toddlerteaplease · 17/11/2022 12:02

Ask St Anthony to find it. He's pretty reliable.

ShimmeringShirts · 17/11/2022 12:07

I’ve found it! The back of my bedside table has a couple inch gap before it reaches the floor, I keep forgetting it’s there.

Took both your advice to go back through slowly, started sorting through everything at the side of my bed, pulled the bedside table out completely and there it was laying in the dust! It’s gone for a long soak and clean, don’t think I’ll be taking it back out again after 😂

Thanks for the sympathy and help, knew MN was where to turn! Grin

Under the fridge or sofa if the cats had it

CoffeandTiaMaria · 17/11/2022 12:10

👏 well done OP, 🤗

Runestone · 17/11/2022 12:28

Happy toothy smiles 😁 glad it's found

AFineBalance · 17/11/2022 20:06
