To say I've had enough ?

Lately, every day feels like groundhog day. Work FT, sort house, cook dinners/buy food/tidy up/life & home admin/SEN admin.

Teen DC (SEN) will only bath/shower/brush teeth when (if) I cajole them. Takes weeks, if not months, to get DC to do anything e.g. chose new winter coat, come to shoe shop for new shoes. I re-start my diet every day and fail every day.

Im 51 and have DH. He is aspergers.

Is this is for the rest of my days ?

Have you had a carers assessment and an assessment of needs for your teen?

welliesandtoast · 16/11/2022 10:06

@Kaitness yes had both of those. Work are great with it all TBH. But it just seems my life is one toll of all the things I listed.

DC take forever to do anything, to go to bed/sleep, to get up, constantly hungry/thirsty & it seems they can never have enough food drink but ask them what they want to eat/what they want on the food shop and they 'don't know', everything is a chore for them, they don't wash/shower/brush teeth unless I nag/cajole them, they don't want to go anywhere or do anything, they have plate/food/drinks left in their rooms, they don't make their beds, their rooms often smell. Typical teenagers to some extent.

I'm totally exhausted trying to manage the house/myself/my work/DC

I feel the same, Autistic 5 year old dc and a newborn that doesn't sleep well. On top of that I need to do all cleaning and laundry, school admin for dc, buy and sort what food we have and the school run as DH can't drive. I'm an exhausted mess at the moment. Awful to say but I almost want to run away and change my identity
