To ask what planet some Vinted sellers are on?!

Browsing second hand baby clothes. 3 used sleepsuits from a supermarket chain, listed for £5! Do they realise that once you add the postage cost, you may as well buy new?!

Does it not work the same in the UK then? I know I used UK terms in my post but that was just for ease of understanding, I am actually in Germany. Nobody uses the Hermes etc offered by Vinted, they all just list custom postage, and then post as the German equivalent of large letter (etc) but the buyer pays postage and this is added on as a separate fee (because you can of course combine items into a bundle for cheaper postage).

Most people message and pay outside the official system using paypal/bank transfer, but probably 30% do use the system despite the fee for buyer, and nobody has ever expected the seller to cover postage.

A lot of sellers don’t realise that there is a buyer’s fee on top of the item cost and postage.

I’ll always offer less, even by 50p, cos it means the buyer’s fee is then reduced & becomes overall more palatable for a second hand item.

I just use the offered by vinted posted and that’s all I’ve ever used when buying. Never done the transaction off site.

I do have the auto discount set up for people bundling items though.

I love Vinted! Both for buying and selling.

Re favouriting cheap items rather than just buying outright sometimes i do this if i'm comparing options - I also only use my own vinted balance to shop from so depends how much I've sold recently.

What I do hate though is people picking locker pick up then it sitting there for days. Like I post it the same day go collect your stuff 😅

I've tried a few times and been disappointed.

Bought a pair of "brand new in box, only tried on once" children's shoes for my DS. Either the seller was lying or the inside of her house is made from mud (they literally had stones in the soles) and her child tried them on, didn't take them off for a month and then decided to get rid. They were minging.

Same for clothes, obviously bought, worn and then shoved in a cupboard for a while until they sold them. Arrived stinking.

I've sold a lot on vinted over the past 18 months, but I sell it all cheap, a lot of things are £1. Anything I get is more than if I get if I give it away. i just want it out the house.

I do consider postage when I put some things on. I think if people buy a bundle then it doesn't matter as they are only paying 1 lot of postage.

Some people do price things very high though. I don't buy a lot on there but some things inc postage are higher than you can get them for on Amazon etc

Love buying from vinted, don't like the smell of febreeze nearly every seller seems to spray liberally on items.

Also if you have worn it it is NOT NEW!

Also vinteds non existent customer service and the fact even though you pay a buyers protection you have to wait so long for a refund or decision and as they are in France you have a time delay and they don't always understand the problem and you have to explain again and again and send so many photos.

And the fact that the buyer has to pay to return an item even if the seller has sent you the wrong item, I have been lucky that the times it has happened to me the seller has paid to return the item to them. I am not talking about if I don't like the item or it doesn't fit - that goes to the charity shop.

I generally only make an offer on higher priced items or a big bundle and then only offer less the price of the postage so only around £5 less on a £50 item as I hate paying postage on things I never do silly offers.
