Vinted sellers pricing too high

Looking to get a christmas jumper for christmas jumper day. trying to be 'sustainable' I look on Vinted. There are some nice jumpers (she wants a particular colour to match friends so slims down options a little), used condition. but the prices they are wanting, by the time you have put on postage and the protection fee, I may as well go and buy a brand new one from the shops for a couple of quid more, or in some cases the same price! I make offers, but no they want x amount. (i know, it's their prerogative) Also noticed this on many other items. I may as well just pay a few quid more and get it brand new. AIBU?

You're not BU. Some items cost almost as much as new, and when buying in the shop at least you can return them if sizing is wrong. I can see people sell i.e. zara blazers for 50 quid. Who is going to buy it, and be stuck if it's too big or small? I'd pay max 3-5 quid for Christmas jumper on vinted.

I sometimes get annoyed with that too but it’s usually just the postage that does it.

Most of the time you might end up spending similar inc postage but it may be that you get a decent Next jumper rather than a Primark one (realise this is hardly relevant for an Xmas jumper though!).

Go to your local charity shop, mine has loads in. Let the vinted seller still be trying to get £20 for her jumper in January.

YANBU. I sell my Boden, Jojo type stuff on Vinted or Facebook but I tend to go half the new price including postage.

so glad it's not just me thinking this! People have very unreasonable expectations. I will check out charity shops and see if I can grab a bargain!
