I want to get my Christmas shopping done asap. I have my mum and youngest brother to buy for. They are both the most difficult people to buy for as they have no hobbies or anything like that. Every year though I've managed to get something for them that they liked, but this year I'm stuck. I think I might have an idea for the brother, but my mum I need some ideas. She's had a tough year and I'd love to get her something great, but also not a waste of money.

Sooo... Please let me know, what is the best present you've every received? Also I'm a single parent with not alot of money, but have some put aside for Christmas. I usually make her something, which I will again this year too, but I'd love to hear your ideas.
She doesn't do flowers, clothes she's fussy with, make up and perfume she has millions of... She loves holidays but I can afford to buy her one of those!

How about a wrap for your mother. I always carry one on a plane or train. For DB how about alcohol eg caramel rum or toffee vodka? Otherwise give them both a voucher?

How much do you want to spend?

Nice candle, rock salt lamp, wrap or blanket, vouchers for meal out, theatre, massage or nails. Books, or magazine subscription. If you can stretch to it one night away together. Luxury scarf. Food and drink hamper.

I tend to do a little Christmas stocking for my mum (and my dad too). It worked well when I didn't have a big budget as I put budget items in, and now I've got a bit more to spend I can make it a bit more fancy. They've always liked it regardless so budget doesn't really matter!

I usually get: a book, a foodie item, a new drink to try (alcoholic or a different tea/coffee), a calendar, something a bit posh like neom hand cream for example, something funny like a daft Christmas decoration, something for the home/kitchen like a candle or kitchen gadget.

Book a craft workshop to do together. Even if you end up making something awful, you’ll have had fun together. Best case scenario, one or both of you find a great new hobby.

This was my stepdad… hardest person in the world to buy for. One year I ended up giving him a collection of award winning mustard. (There really is a store for everything- I present The mustard museum Sorry the shipping probably won’t work for you) As usual he hated it on sight, but then I heard that he was secretly using his mustard stash on the sly.

so to make this a practical suggestion do either of them really like something that you could go fancy on? Hot sauce, alcohol, socks, etc?

Along similar lines to the poster above me, I've just bought a 12 jar honest tasting set and a honeycomb for my husband for this year from Maters & Co, if you sign up to their newsletter you get 15% off.

He likes honey and is keen to try some comb!

That’s a good one!

Food hamper or pamper hamper for your mum? Alternatively Etsy and Folksy will have amazing unique gifts and you can search the tags mother gift and brother gift or just Christmas gift.

Agree on the food or drink they love but with bells on.

Thanks everyone for the replies! Definitely going to have a look into them. The mustard one is funny 😅 last year I got my brother a selection of different types of hot sauce for his birthday because he likes spicy food, but I noticed it's still in the box untouched 😅

I would love to take her away for the weekend, but it means taking my little girl ( 4yo) as my mum is my babysitter 🙈 and she doesn't enjoy going away with my stepdad.
