To ask for tips to cope and get through this

I have pleurisy and am in a lot of pain. My 5 year old has chicken pox and although is coping well in the day is struggling at night and not sleeping much. My 2 year old has a virus and croup at night. DH is on the brink of a break down I think. We were just getting him into a new schedule of taking a day for himself (he is self employed) which was helping and gave a glimmer of hope for his recovery - and now it's all on him. I'm doing what I can, but I've been getting worse and worse and I feel like I can't stop. I am also self employed, so time off work is a huge deal affecting income. All family live far away.

How can we cope? Any practical suggestions warmly welcomed!

Ive had pleurisy and know how you feel. Can you afford to pay someone to come in for a couple of hours a day to help out or employ a night nurse for your toddler? Otherwise, leave all housework, do essential washing, basic meals and sort everything out when you recover. Could any of the family come to stay? My father was self employed and I well remember the tensions whenever he thought he might be ill and not be able to work.

If funds allow, get a cleaner and give them a list of essential cleaning that needs doing, take washing to laundrette and have it service washed, do online supermarket shop or click and collect, eat ready meals, and if a member of your family can come and stay for a week to help with everything then ask them.

Thanks, these are great suggestions. It's so hard, we've had one illness after another and this situation seems like it could tip us over the edge.
