24,000 people in front of you. Wow how lovely to be so super popular?

Has anyone waited?
What could be done to stop people selling them on for profit?

Does anyone pay an excessive amount for them? I wouldnt.

I like Peter Kay but can't seem to get on board with the hype around the tour, long ticket queues, 2025 dates...etc.

How do we even know that there are 178999 people in a queue ahead of us, is the just hype to maximize FOMO🤔

Againstmachine · 12/11/2022 17:52

Queued all day and when finally came to book Manchester 2024, two tickets for about £150, I just suddenly thought “Nah” and clicked off.

But he froze them at 35 quid except it was all a lie.

nottodaytomorrow · 12/11/2022 17:56

By midday various people selling them on Facebook as they were allowed to buy 10 per transaction and only wanted 2 for themselves.

Stangerthings · 12/11/2022 17:58

I got 8 on Thursday with O2 priority. Only took me 5 minutes. So sorry for everyone who did not get them.

Beanly · 12/11/2022 17:59

Is he really this good? All this hype for 1 person?

feathersandslats · 12/11/2022 17:59

We had a few devices running but it was harder than Glastonbury last week! We got through and booked tickets for the first show in London next month! Took about 10 minutes. We were lucky!

nottodaytomorrow · 12/11/2022 18:01

As for managing re sales people need to take personal responsibility for it.. if they were only prepared to pay face value for tickets there would only be need for genuine resale due to unforeseen circumstances etc but because people will outbid each other to ridiculous amounts there is an open market for it.

Againstmachine · 12/11/2022 18:08

Exactly if people pay inflated prices they only have theirselves to blame, and it actually fuels the market, if people didn't buy from touts it wouldn't exist.

Is he that funny?

Yes he is

I thought his tour was next Spring or something. It's a huge gamble to buy tickets for something two years in advance anything could happen. And he's cancelled tours before hasn't he?

Yes he has but I think we are all aware that he's been very unwell 🙄

Has he? 🤷‍♀️
Even if that’s the case two years is a long time in anyone’s life IMO.

Confuzzlediddled · 12/11/2022 18:41

Waited for 5 hours to get into Ticketmaster, only to find there was no options for accessible tickets, despite supposedly only being available through them. Last time I tried to get sought after tickets for a show it took 8 hours but at least I got them in the end as that was through an accessible phone line.

JustLurkingAway · 12/11/2022 18:42

Managed to get some for £35ea for Jan 24...longer wait than I'd have liked seeing as it's as Xmas present but oh well! There's were over 200k people in one of the queues so can't complain really.

Chocolateteabag · 12/11/2022 18:43

Finally managed to get tickets

For April 2025!!

Oh well something to look forward too
Or forget about!!

TheSausageKingofChicago · 12/11/2022 18:45

I must have been lucky. Joined the waiting room at 9:50, got 3 tickets for Manchester, December 2, by 10:15.

My family has had a shitty run of things lately so I’m glad we have something nice to look forward to in the not-too-distant.

Jellybean23 · 12/11/2022 18:59

My son and girlfriend bought their tickets last Wednesday because his girlfriend is with O2 for her mobile. They've got tickets for September.

It wasn’t a lie. Tickets were available at £35, it’s always been the case that tickets are tiered according to closeness to stage etc.

They absoloutley should have sold tickers with names printed on and asked for ID.

Yes he is but sad that there aren't more comedians around who are as funny. Then there wouldn't be such demand.

Says alot really.

I disagree, lots were bought legitimately as gifts where the purchaser may not be attending with the recipient. I bought two sets of two tickets unfortunately not seated together. Myself and DH will be going and as several of my friends missed out on tickets our other tickets will enable two of them to go. At the time of ordering though since everyone was trying how was anyone to know which of their friends had purchased tickets or not? Lots of people are selling on at face value for this reason.

mamabear715 · 12/11/2022 20:37

Got some for Aug 2023. Both DD's tried to get some for Feb 2023 & laughed at me aiming for Aug! Guess which of us got some, lol.. (for all of us, of course, not just me!)
I was SO excited that I let out some large whoops & did a happy dance around the kitchen.. ;-)
Lovely to have something to look forwards to, IMO.
