24,000 people in front of you. Wow how lovely to be so super popular?

Has anyone waited?
What could be done to stop people selling them on for profit?

Does anyone pay an excessive amount for them? I wouldnt.

@OneFrenchEgg thanks 😊

Theluggage15 · 12/11/2022 16:27

Got my four after being in a queue of 18000. At the O2 in September 23. Another queue I was in at the same time was 178000 for Manchester! So annoying these places selling them on for bonkers prices.

DaddysGirl36 · 12/11/2022 16:35

I got to the front of a 7000 queue within an hour but no availability anywhere. It was utterly pointless & waste of time being made to wait in a queue in my view. I would not have stayed in a queue of 50K people or done it longer than an hour. Madness!

Who are the people paying £283-1100 for a ticket? They are as crazy as the sellers - if they don't pay those high prices then the idiots can't profit & the whole thing might stop in future

HundredMilesAnHour · 12/11/2022 16:40

I tried Ticketmaster at 10am and they were 180,000 people in the queue for various O2 dates in front of me. Given that the O2 can only seat 20,000, I knew I was in trouble. So I opened a tab for Manchester and I had 240,000 people in front of me.

So I tried Gigs and Tours at 10.05am and it took me almost 2 hours before I was finally able to get 2 tickets for the O2 in Oct next year and 3 for Manchester in March 2024. By this point there were still over 100,000 people ahead of me in all the Ticketmaster queues. 😲

merryhouse · 12/11/2022 16:40

If people don't buy at inflated prices then inflated prices will stop.

Pointless moaning about how you "had to" pay over the odds for entertainment. You don't have to go. You want to, and that's perfectly reasonable; but you don't have to.

Watch tv and donate to a food bank. If nobody buys the tickets it will soon end.

Tessabelle74 · 12/11/2022 16:43

Pretty sure no one has a gun to your head forcing you to buy tickets. For what it's worth, I was 5600 in the queue at 10am but got tickets from the O2 website at just after 12 as new dates had just been added, if anyone else is still looking, dates still available for the O2 but not until July/August 2024!

RoachTheHorse · 12/11/2022 16:44

Clearly the answer is to make it illegal to sell a ticket on anything other than a licensed ticket site. Then make the licensing rules right and enforce them. Then you can pass to friends etc but they are only purchasable online from a small number of licensed places. Make the purchase and resale by businesses restricted too.

They could pass laws and licensing rules for all this but they won't. And I do understand. Because enforcement would be a huge issue.

Adultchildofelderlyparents · 12/11/2022 16:56

I was trying for an hour and got some for 2024, £50 each. Very happy, I love Peter Kay!
Resales should be banned! The only way to fix that problem is if the original ticket vendors are willing to buy spare tickets back at face value and resell themselves again for face value.

I thought his tour was next Spring or something. It's a huge gamble to buy tickets for something two years in advance anything could happen. And he's cancelled tours before hasn't he?

Hardly a huge gamble is it? Worst case scenario you lose your money 🤷‍♀️

if he cancels you get your money back minus the atrocious TM charges

Theluggage15 · 12/11/2022 17:03

Well I had tickets for his last tour and when it was cancelled I got my money back, not exactly a big deal.

DutchessOfMuck · 12/11/2022 17:04

Does anyone know if 411 J is a good area for seats?

Where? Glasgow? London?

DutchessOfMuck · 12/11/2022 17:12

Yes a venue would be helpful 😂 sorry 😳

At the 02

foxglove9 · 12/11/2022 17:21

There's a great seating plan on the o2 website so you can see exactly where your seats are

JenniferAllisonPhillipaSue · 12/11/2022 17:29

There seems to be zero discussion about the fact that he only appears to be doing two gigs per fortnight, hence why the tour is sooooo long (tickets now on sale for April 2025!). I'm guessing it must be related to this mysterious health condition that forced him to cancel the last tour. Personally I cannot be bothered this time, I think he's become over-exposed during his absence and I've moved onto newer comedians. Besides, who knows what I'll be doing in April 2025??!!!

Oysterbabe · 12/11/2022 17:30

We've got tickets for January 2025 😄

MassiveSalad22 · 12/11/2022 17:30

Husband had 4 devices set up at 9:30 and got tickets around 10:30 I think. 12 rows back or something, March 2023 or something! He’s very excited! 😂🙄

MassiveSalad22 · 12/11/2022 17:31

Isn’t Pete gonna be sooo bored of his material doing it for like 2 years straight??

Againstmachine · 12/11/2022 17:31

Exactly this there is a lot better comedian's you can see for a better price these days.

And as said arenas for comedy are shit.

Againstmachine · 12/11/2022 17:32

See as he has been doing same since 2000s he will be fine.

GenerallyGreenerGrass · 12/11/2022 17:38

Queued all day and when finally came to book Manchester 2024, two tickets for about £150, I just suddenly thought “Nah” and clicked off.
Don’t regret, he’s great but I’ll wait for Video.

NoProbLlamaa · 12/11/2022 17:45

I did manage to get tickets (after about 40 minutes) but for 2024!

I must admit I am disappointed - I had tickets for myself and my parents for his cancelled shows. It would have been nice to do some kind of pre sale for those people.
