Example. Someone has fucked up massively. They have a choice to stop fucking up but carry on as they don't want to lose face so continue doing the stupid thing.

Any ideas?

I'm not sure what you are looking for. These are foolish behaviours, but don't necessarily have their own name/condition.

People get trapped in situations all the time, because they've not fully considered consequences and have burned their boats.

You keep throwing money at something because you've spent so much on it to begin with, even though it's not improving.
