Joke or not?

[Practicaljoke]

Person 1 is sat on the sofa feeling ill.

Person 2 walks in with mug of coffee and trips, pretending to throw coffee over person 1. Cup is actually empty and it’s a practical joke.

Person 1 very annoyed and doesn’t find this funny.

Person 2 cannot understand why person 1 would be annoyed and thinks they are unreasonable for overreacting to a joke.

Vote YABU if it is funny and person 1 should not overreact.

Vote YANBU if it is not funny and person 2 is being a dick.

Person 2 is an arsehole. If it startles someone or scares them, it's not a joke IMO.

I wouldn't have got annoyed at the 'joke' but doubt I would have found it funny either, and would probably get annoyed at someone for getting annoyed at the fact that I wouldn't find it funny. If that makes sense?!?!

Person 2 needs to make amends by meekly bringing Person 1 a nice cup of tea or hot toddy or whatever might make them feel better.

I hate practical jokes. If you’re over 8 years old and not a cast member on Impractical Jokers then they’re extremely unfunny and pathetic.

Either way nobody would ever do a practical joke on me because I make it known that it isn’t funny. And a practical joke where the victim doesn’t find it funny isn’t really a joke.

I hate practical jokes and wouldn't find this funny at all. We had a guy at work who did this sort of thing all the time. Everybody thought he was a complete dick but he thought he was hilarious.

If I were the sick person I’d find it really annoying. If I wasn’t the sick person and it was well done I could appreciate the slapstick comedy value but also think it wasn’t not an appropriate joke at the time given the illness.

Jokes are supposed to be funny to other people not just the joker. It is not relevant if one of you wasn't well. It wasn't funny to begin with.
