How do you wear a strappy dress  without exposing your bra?

I'm quite top-heavy, so I definitely need support, and strapless is far too uncomfortable for me. How are you all dealing with this situation? If you don't wear a bra, how do you ensure you're not over-revealing yourself? Do you wear a bra with no straps? Do you wear pasties? Any suggestions?

I had to learn this lesson this year… here is my report.

This isn’t the same brand I used but I used something similar. The key is the shape (tear drop) and to use nipple covers. Silicone booby covers

They stayed put and the shape allowed for a little more coverage and lift. Weather was hot, humid, damp because of rain, the covers stayed securely in place for over 6 hours.

My backup was going to be a layer of boob tape to give lift and structure but I didn’t need it. read reviews and watch YouTube for help.

Here is where I went wrong, The boobies I used had small clips to help with cleavage. That didn’t work great with the cut of the dress. I used clear double side tape to make sure the dress stayed put. That didn’t hold up as well to the heat and humidity so it started to come undone a bit. Luckily I was wearing a flower lei so the tape just kept the flowers from moving which provided the needed modesty. Next time I wear the dress I won’t use the cleavage clip.

Good luck!

@saltinesandcoffeecups i really like your idea. Especially a boob tape. Thanks sharing the link

You can buy small hook type things that you sew into the dress strap and then just place the bra strap into it.

I think they’re called StrapTrap or similar. Can buy them at haberdashers or similar.
Bit fiddly but they work well.

Too top heavy Sad
I can't wear strappy, backless, halter neck, strapless... it's bloody limiting to find party outfits especially when I was younger

Thanks , for all the suggestions. Yes it a good idea to choose a dress with wide straps but it is not always easy. As winters are at the corner into not a pressing issue. For the time being, I’m more than happy to use a cardi. Some of your ease with straps on show but I found it uncomfortable even see through ones.

you all need to try this .. I hardly ever wear bras now. Even with 2 backless dresses. Really is worth the money and really comfy.

I don't like the sound of this policy at all.

@feelthebeatfromthetangerine I doubt it's even enforceable, is it the consumer rights act? Either way there are laws particularly with online shopping.

Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, online sellers are responsible for making sure your order is delivered to you at your address or to an agreed alternative safe place.

I don’t buy dresses unless the straps are wide enough to cover my bra straps, or it’s a shape where I can get away without a bra.

Can’t get used to the bra straps on show look personally.

Same same

I don't understand the products, are the tops and dresses fitted with extra boob support?

Tape

Autumnmoonshines · 16/11/2022 11:48

@Name99

They are made with extra thick and stretchy cotton. Elastane and cotton, honestly i don't know how they work but they do.
They don't have anything built in, its just the super thick cotton and its so supportive. I have so many of their clothes, they are the comfiest.
