Does anyone else have the thing where there is a thread that is active and then you leave your advice/response and the thread just stops and nobody else replies after you!?

I am the Harold Shipman of thread killing. Prolific.

@PicaNewName

Can I just join and try to kill this one, too? 😁

@mothertrucking
Just popping by to stop your thread right now

Knowing how it feels I will make sure that will never happen although it could result in a long running thread in order of reassuring ourselves Grin

@mermeration @PrincessJanet How on earth is this abrupt? Don't get a complex about the way you speak, @Keyansier!

mermeration · 11/11/2022 12:34

PrincessJanet · 11/11/2022 12:18

No, it happens with everyone

Well, you do have a bit of a noticeable, er, style.

Haha I've noticed this user on lots of post and think I've actually reported a few

mermeration · 11/11/2022 12:37

@Summer15coming I wasn't directly referring o the his thread more questioning why it happens on other threads

OnlyFannys · 11/11/2022 12:41

AuntieDickhead · 10/11/2022 18:52

Yep. Quite often. Or I give a reply, someone else comes along and says the same thing and then gets loads of "oh yea. Great advice" replies. Completely ignoring me. Maybe I'm invisible.

I hate this, I want to be petty and stomp my feet and point out I said it first but I dont (usually).

Oh ok, sorry, I hadn't noticed other threads.

Not sure what other thread you're talking about?? But the focus of this thread is this one.

Probably because you come across as a bit of a tool!

I honestly thought that was just me

@Keyansier Grin

Actually the worst feeling is when you kill your own thread. It's like everyone unanimously decides that you're only interesting up to a point.

Every bump risks this.

Looks like I'm taking the bullet on this one...

mermeration · 12/11/2022 11:19

@Keyansier it was a while ago (I think around the time you put a thread on about packs of bread rolls). I'd put a thread up when I was in a bad place and you were nasty and abrupt, unnecessarily. Along the lines it was all my fault and I was entitled or something. It made me feel worse for weeks

But I've seen you be abrupt and nasty to quite a few people and I now report it as it I remember how I felt.

Yes the thread is about this one, but you wrote it about other threads where I assume you feel ignored etc

VladmirsPoutine · 12/11/2022 11:45

I think it depends when you join a thread - a few pages in then most conceivable positions will already have been stated and tangents will have begun so if you then go in directly referencing the original post a lot of posters will have already moved on.

KimberleyClark · 12/11/2022 11:49

What I find so often is that when I post it’s the last post of a page and a new one starts immediately so I wonder if anyone actually saw my post!

Sorry, but I think perhaps you've got me mixed up with another poster, unless you can link to this so-called thread.

Are you a different poster or was this a name change fail?
