To think this is not right teaching

DD forgot her school book today and the teacher asked them to write an essay starting with: I am sorry for my rubbishness, I am sorry for my lameness.

Is this correct? Should I complain or just normal in the state system with so many teachers some good and some not so good/rubbish 😂

Oldest DD goes to a private school and has never had anything like that; her tutor did ask them to write similar essay in those circumstances but not calling themselves rubbish

I am quite concerned with this though and have emailed the school.

She also says this particular teacher stays outside the classroom staring at the girls while they get in the classroom. It is a girls state outstanding school in London

Terrible wording especially from a literacy teacher. What was the point of getting your daughter to do that? It achieved nothing.

Yes, outstanding English speaking school in London

That’s odd. According to gov.uk there are no outstanding girls primaries in London.

Complain to the Head. “Rubbishness” and “lameness” are not words. And your child shouldn’t be being told they’re “rubbish” because they forgot a book. WTAF.

The daughter is in year 7. It's a secondary.

Thank you. I have emailed the school and yes, it is a girls outstanding school and daughter is in year 7.

So far I have been happy with the school and I think it is a good school.; but I guess with such a big School: 1500 girls you can always get a rubbish teacher 😂

Got the reply from the school. They have spoken to the teacher and his answer is that he was using the words in irony and did not expect the children to use them. Not sure whether to leave it or to write to the Headteacher. I had the school in high regard until this.
