i thought you were going to say a crush on a famous person, which I think happens to anyone at any age. But obviously can’t be given too much head room as it’s not real.

The thing with a crush is that it's likely to stop as soon as it starts. I had a mad crush on a guy in office I walked past every morning. Only knew him to sig 'morning' or 'has the post arrived yet?' But oh my imagination ..... Them one day I saw him blow his nose on his sleeve and examine afterwards. There my crush ended and I every time I saw him after that I got the ick

Yes I have spoke to him longer than 5 mins, we work closely in the same team but he is moving to another area of the business.

Having had a load of work crushes, my advice is not to get too invested but to enjoy it for the spark it can give to working life. Look forward to the Christmas party and maybe see if you have chemistry whilst chatting, but if it’s not a thing then that’s fine and move on. It’s can feel nice to look forward to work for a crush. Just don’t get hurt!! Xx

Also, I was out with my old boss on Friday, discussing matters of the heart. There’s no romance to be had there, but I’m early 40s, he’s mid 30s. I was moaning about the lack of eligible men in their 40s.
