Who messed up here?

Nursery worker asks agency worker to take some individual photos of the kids while doing activity.
Agency worker does this and saves all the photos on the ipad given.
Nursery worker then can't find the photos on there and asks where they are. It's explained that they were saved. Nursery worker then asks 'But did you save them under each child's name ?' to which the answer was no.
Who should have been embarrassed at their error?

How would the agency worker know all the children's names?

Bournetilly · 09/11/2022 15:22

Did the agency worker know to save the photos under individual names? If they didn’t know then it’s the nursery workers fault.
It doesn’t really matter though, it’s just one of them things.

riotlady · 09/11/2022 15:27

Why would anyone be embarrassed?

StressedToTheMaxxx · 09/11/2022 15:35

No one should be embarrassed, it was simple miscommunication. If they are saved then presumably they can be moved to each child's account?

Velvetween · 09/11/2022 15:35

If it was a special event and important to save the photos, then I don’t think it should have been left to agency staff. A permanent staff member who knew the drill should have done this.

Definitely this.

Are the photos saved or not op? What device were they taken on? If a phone, they will be there unless permanently deleted, which involved 2 deletions.

They were saved but they do not save unless linked to each child's account.

Are they saved or not? This doesn't make sense.

girlmom21 · 09/11/2022 15:50

I'm beginning to understand why the agency worker had absolutely no clue what was expected of them Grin

CatchYouOnTheFlippetyFlop · 09/11/2022 16:04

Embarrassed? what the hell?

ChicCroissant · 09/11/2022 16:11

Agency worker would not know the children's names so would not be able to save them in that manner. Even if it had been explained to her, which it clearly hadn't.

Are the photos on the iPad? You haven't given a clear answer to that question.

hesbeingabitofadick · 09/11/2022 16:13

Who cares?
presumably they're somewhere and the person giving directions should have given info as to where to save them.

Forgot this bit OR THE PERSON GIVING THE INSTRUCTION WITHOUT DIRECTION SHOULD HAVE DONE IT THEMSELVES

hth

If you CBA to show someone how to do something properly, expect it to go tits up.

zingally · 09/11/2022 16:31

The nursery worker is at fault. If she'd wanted the photos in a specific place, other than just "in the camera roll", she should have specified that, and explained in more detail where she wanted things.

I'm a supply teacher, and when I'm asked to take photos on an ipad... once I've clicked the button and taken the photo, that's where my involvement ends. What happens to the photos after that is of zero interest or concern of mine.

Zoomingo · 09/11/2022 16:32

Why is anyone embarrassed?! Has one of them had a go at the other? Because it's really just one of those oops things.
