Spouse is not great at buying presents for me. Despite a longish marriage which means he is well aware of my tastes and interests, he says he 'never knows what I want.' So he asks me to select some item for him to give me.

So at the weekend I spent several hours online shopping for a gift for him. This also involved having a conversation wit him to work out of various alternatives he'd prefer, emailing potential suppliers etc.

I then selected my own gift. I ended up opting for an item available in two very different colours - one ugly (which is the default model) and one attractive colour (which is a variant shade). At his request I emailed him the link specifically to the attractive one.

I have just found out that he has ordered me the ugly one. It is typical of him. He was in rush and wanted to get it done in as little time as possiy He didn't notice there were two colours or think to check.

I think I would like to go off somewhere by myself this year.

So you linked him to a present that you didn't want and that you think is 'ugly' and now throwing a tantrum because he visited said link and bought you the 'ugly' present?

YABU and sound entitled and like a toddler.

I don’t know why you wouldn’t be specific
here’s the link, it’s the pink one I want NOT the grey one.
but if this is just an example of his selfish behaviour, send his gift back, and buy the gift you actually wanted for yourself.
suggest he do the same for himself, see how much energy he manages to put in then.

Why didn't you just order it yourself?

Silly man. Poor you, OP!
