What would you do? They aren’t in and it’s late, part of me thinks open it and put things in the fridge the other part thinks it’s weird to rummage through other people’s food!

Why have you got it?

If they can't be arsed to be in on delivery day I'd not bother un packing it.

Nursejackie1 · 06/11/2022 22:13

The delivery man left it with my partner while I was out. I’m sure they would have been notified it’s here so yes I suppose it’s on them but didn’t want to be out of order

I'd text them and ask if they'd like me to leave it alone or if they want me to put stuff in my fridge overnight - it doesn't have to be complicated.

LBF2020 · 06/11/2022 22:15

It will be fine outside (somewhere dry) they pack it well with ice blocks and insulation to keep cool. Ours stays outside all day the summer and is fine :-)

Nursejackie1 · 06/11/2022 22:16

I would text but I don’t have any contact numbers. Only choice is to leave or unpack. Probably overthinking lol

I would unpack it and put the cold stuff in the fridge overnight. I'm sure they'd prefer that to it going bad.

GeorgiaGK · 06/11/2022 22:18

I'd just put it outside their door. It's cold outside anyway ☺️

bravelittletiger · 06/11/2022 22:19

Have you knocked on their door to give it back to them?

ohidoliketobe · 06/11/2022 22:22

If you open the box the stuff which needs to go in the fridge is in a separate insultaed bag with a few ice blocks. The non perishable stuff is in paper bags numbet3d according to the revipie cards. So you could just open the box and out the chiller bag straight into your fridge- no rummaging or opening or packets required.

ohidoliketobe · 06/11/2022 22:22

*insulated bag

Medee · 06/11/2022 22:25

Have you a garage to put it in? Or any spare ice packs you could just add to the i side top of the box, without having to rummage.

ZenNudist · 06/11/2022 22:31

Unpack

Montague22 · 06/11/2022 22:32

Open it. That would be very kind of you and I’d appreciate it. I would bin it if left out.

karmalama · 06/11/2022 22:34

Just leave it, my Gousto box is often dispatched to courier the night before, then arrives lunchtime or later next day and ice blocks are still frozen. It will last ages.

fruitbrewhaha · 06/11/2022 22:34

Or you could eat it?

PyongyangKipperbang · 06/11/2022 22:58

Its their box that they ordered and knew was coming. That they were not in is on them.

Leave it as it is and if they get arsey with you, never accept a parcel in for them again.

parsniiips · 06/11/2022 23:01

I would open it and just put meat in the fridge. No need to rummage or pull everything out.

I'd be grateful if someone did for me.

Nursejackie1 · 07/11/2022 06:29

Thanks all, yes I let knocking in their door until late. I’ve put the perishable stuff in the fridge.
