To think my tenants are taking the mickey?

No problems with new oven, tumble dryer, washing machine, fence (this one is still outstanding) etc, but they are having a visit from the managing agents today, and 'phoned me last night with their list of stuff they were going to pass on to them.

They are:

Light for fridge
Light under cooker hood.

AIBU, or isn't this just akin to changing a blardy light bulb? I'd be truly hacked off if they 'phoned me to replace one of those!

Any thoughts?

I wouls proibably do stuff like as in the OP myself tbh, unless it looked breakable

But I live in a house where we had to re-lay the patrio ourselves (out of our pocket) and redecoirate ourselves (also out of our own pocket)

I do see it from both sides, I was a tenant once before we could afford to buy, DD and Ds also have been tenants, as well as landlords.

I think you'd find we actually treat our tenants very well indeed. Letting them rent for 2 weeks at the end of a lease as their seller letting them down on completion dates, letting new tenants have a couple of days to move everything in or out, and the flats are always decorated every three years.

The flats are not cheaply furnished or carpeted, we have them to the same standard as we would want to live in.

Do you have any properties in Bath???

A nice one about to be bought in Birmingham overlooking the canal, 10 minute walk from the centre.

My DD and DH have both worked for our local letting agencies and are seriously aghast at the standards some landlords think are acceptable, they think some of the rents are outrageous.

We are very careful with what we buy, we tend to buy new build or fairly new, are not into renovation!
