Basically that.
I'm going on holiday in two weeks and have spent the last week sorting out bikinis /passports etc etc and now the stress of Christmas
The Time we get back it will nearly be December and I haven't started.
Well I tell a lie I have a tin of roses
Why did I think it was a good idea to go away end of November.
Aibu ?
I know i should be excited etc but I just want to put my tree up and go Xmas shopping

Do some online, or on Saturday if you need to go in person. If you don't go for another two weeks, you could get most of it done before you go.

Mumsafan · 02/11/2022 14:57

How much shopping do you have to do? I never do a thing until the 2nd week in December.

luxxlisbon · 02/11/2022 14:59

I don’t get it, how on earth have you spent a week ‘sorting bikinis and passports’?
There doesn’t need to be any Christmas stress any time let along November.

You’re making your life harder than it needs to be.

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 02/11/2022 14:59

What do you actually need to buy? Gift cards for anyone over 12, books for anyone under 12. Done.

verywelll · 02/11/2022 15:00

@luxxlisbon one passport wasn't back so had to email ,go to passport office twice which was a 8 hour round trip

Try and enjoy it this time but if you think it was too stressful don't go on holiday that close to Christmas again. I hope you have a great time soaking up the sun ☀️
Where ru going?

ParentallyUnprepared · 02/11/2022 15:58

Why can't you start now you've sorted everything out for your holiday?

This really is a non-issue.

Daddydog · 02/11/2022 16:00

I LIVE for late November holidays - they are the best!! Started this tradition a decade ago and never looked back! We're taking our 9 week old abroad for the first time in 3 weeks! The best part is, the airport's, hotels, destinations are all festive and Christmasy but nice and quiet. Nov-Dec is a lower season in terms of price than Dec-Jan so that's a win! Best of all you have a wicked tan for party season! It's the perfect bit of R&R before the Xmas mad rush!! Enjoy your holiday and don't stress :)

Feelinglikeachange22 · 02/11/2022 16:00

There's always a bit of work involved in holidays but nothing ventured nothing gained. Where are you going?

GertrudePerkinsPaperyThing · 02/11/2022 16:03

It’s fine! Go on your holiday with the clothes you have - bikinis aren’t that big a think 5to sort. You can always pick up one or two bits whilst there.

Passports of course are crucial but sounds like you’ve done that.

And Christmas? Christmas happens whether you’re prepped for it or not! Don’t panic about it. Shopping can all be done on line. It’s fine.

Mushroo · 02/11/2022 16:03

Just order everything online whilst sitting on a sun lounger.

It’ll all be delivered when you’re back. Problem solved

tealandteal · 02/11/2022 16:03

Christmas doesn’t have to be stressful. Are you going on a beach holiday? I assumed that’s what the bikinis are for. If you enjoy Christmas shopping, spend two weeks lying in the sun and browsing. Make a list of what you want to get everyone, then order it on the last few days so it’s not delivered before you get back. Then you can also make a list of anything you need to buy in person.

Nicer problems to have 😆
