To think that Hancock's had a brakedown & is making silly decisions

To think, although self inflicted, partially, but maybe from the covid crisis stress he's just lost the plot completely by going on I'm a celeb? He's in no right mind is he!

OP posts:
logana · 02/11/2022 08:02

He's an MP. He's being paid by the taxpayer to do a job and he should be here doing it. Parliament is not in recess.

He's not the only one doing it though and hopefully this will expose more widely the disgraceful culture of MPs swanning off to do what they like when they should be working. I once went to a work conference overseas only to find my MP was a guest speaker! He spent 3 days in the sunshine enjoying the free booze and collecting a big fee when he should have been at home working. They're all at it.

RedRiverShore2 · 02/11/2022 08:09

Boris has been on holiday, made all the more obvious by the fact he dashed home for the leadership campaign, how is that any different. There was not a word mentioned by anyone in the Tory party about that.

grayhairdontcare · 01/11/2022 20:15

He threw care home residents under a bus and now wants to be a celebrity....
He's a grade A cunt

Why use a miraculous part of a woman’s anatomy to insult a man?

Endwalker · 02/11/2022 08:20

Matt Hancock is NOT a cunt, he lacks the requisite warmth and depth.

NotAKnowitall · 01/11/2022 20:05

Did Nadine Dorries also have a breakdown or what? Why was she allowed but he isn't? Not that I like the man but it's clear as day he's being treated completely differently compared to a colleague who did the same thing.

She had the whip withdrawn too. They were treated in exactly the same way.

saraclara · 02/11/2022 08:32

Justgetitoverwith · 01/11/2022 20:52

That said, he can't serve his constituency from Australia and since he's receiving an MPs salary, he ought to be here earning it!

He's been suspended from the Conservatives

But he's still an MP and he's still being paid. He remains an MP but not a Tory one. He's now an independent.

SpangledShambles · 02/11/2022 08:52

I never watch the programme but if there’s a way to vote people out I’d sign up and hope the millions filled with cold fury at this wanker will do the same.

Blocked · 02/11/2022 08:53

I think he's just a wally. Looking forward to I'm a celeb now!

Changemyname1000x · 01/11/2022 21:48

He's doing it because he's a backbencher and isn't returning and may even lose his seat in near future. He gets paid to do this show snd if he's lucky he'll get future TV gigs like Ed Balls. It's purely a career move. Most of them are in it for the ego.

Exactly this. I think he has accepted his political career is over so has his eye on what comes next.

Trying to reinvent himself as Ed Balls or Michael Portillo or soneone. Hope he is the first one voted out. Might even watch for the first time in years.

I don’t think he is being treated differently (by Parliament, if that’s what you mean) @NotAKnowitall, as both he and ND lost the party whip when they went on I’m a celebrity. In terms of public opinion, yes maybe MH is being treated harsher, but given his behaviour during the pandemic, I don’t think we can blame people for having strong views about him.

Trustylion · 02/11/2022 09:41

Don't they already screen all kids for dyslexia in year 7?

Either way, eat kangaroo balls and bore off wancock.

Jourdain11 · 02/11/2022 09:43

I think there's a really nasty element of class-ism about the way people go for Matt Han

Trustylion · 02/11/2022 09:47

Why? He's solidly upper middle class, nothing particularly interesting or different about his background. He's neither rich aristo nor WC made good.

Oops, lost half my message, sorry! But yeah he always seemed to me to be set up as the posh boys' fall guy. And it's amazing how much the public goes along with it! He's definitely a bit try hard but I don't think he's remotely more awful than any of the others.

Ed Balls is happy to look silly and that's why the public went for him so much. It's a pity that the Labour Party can't make use of it now because he could basically be their Boris. Plus his expertise in macroeconomics might come in handy!

Trustylion · 02/11/2022 09:52

PPE at Oxford just like the rest of them, he's just less professional than someone like say Sunak. I think he's set himself up for a fall by behaving terribly whilst in office and, unlike the equally terrible BoJo, hasn't got enough posh boy self belief or creds to brazen through.

generalh · 02/11/2022 09:54

No he is a narcissist and wants to seen. Not in cabinet anymore so has to resort to doiing this. He should be concentrating on his constituents not prancing about in Australia.

generalh · 02/11/2022 09:56

Justgetitoverwith · 01/11/2022 21:53

He must've had a breakdown. We all thought the world was ending and he was responsible for the cornerstone of how we dealt with it in our country.... the stress alone must have done some damage surely....

Oh please. He is a grade 1 twat. Do not associate him with those with mental health issues. Most insulting to say the least.

friskybivalves · 02/11/2022 10:06

Tromboncini · 02/11/2022 07:05

Aside from the scientists I credit Dame Kate Bingham. She’s the one who using her insight, spread bet our chances of a viable vaccine, and multiple horses came through.

Exactly. Using her experience as a scientist, and a venture capitalist, to spread the risk across a slate of companies all racing to develop vaccines at a time when no one knew which would be successful.

cantba · 02/11/2022 10:09

I would say he just needs some money quick due to his impending divorce.

UnstableCarHouse · 02/11/2022 10:42

I think you’re mixing up having a breakdown with just being a prat.

Yesthatismychildsigh · 02/11/2022 11:01

He’s not having a breakdown. He’s just a wankstain. If only he had been. He wants money and publicity for his book. In five years he’ll be playing the baddy in pantomime every year.

the80sweregreat · 02/11/2022 11:03

He said it's to promote his book about dyslexia.
Maybe if he could ask the education secretary to pump more money into SEN in schools and clear the huge backlog of children waiting on assessments , then maybe more children might not get so behind or overlooked if they have dyslexia or other SEN.

Diverging · 02/11/2022 11:11

No he’s just trying to line up a post politics career. Or possibly rehabilitate some sort of future political career.

As did Nicola Sturgeon's govt. In fact it was worse.

MrsDanversGlidesAgain · 02/11/2022 11:54

Hancock's got ££££ in his eyes for when being a backbench MP just isn't fulfilling his massive potential <sarcasm, BTW>. Plus he probably has a very expensive divorce to fund.
