Pre menopause?? At 33??

Hello All,

AIBU to think I could be entering pre menopause at 33?

Two kids youngest 3 years. No family history of early menopause.

The last couple of months I have been having the weirdest hot flushes and awful night sweats.

Also never had a problem throughout my teens with spots until recently! Bit of weight gain but nothing major. Mood swings come and go but again nothing to shout about.

Periods are still normal and I am on the pill and have been since youngest was born so no difference in the last three years.

so it’s really these night sweats, hot flushes and spots.

anyone started menopause in their 30s and had similar symptoms?

Hi. Sorry you're experiencing these symptoms. I am 39 and have just been put on hrt. Have had symptoms for at least a couple of years but kept being told I had anxiety/depression. I finally got to see a lovely practice nurse and she sent me for numerous tests to rule out thyroid, Polycystic ovaries etc. When they came back ok she had me see a GP who was equally as nice and put me on hrt and progesterone. My biggest symptoms are headaches/migraines, uncontrollable sadness/irritation, hot flushes, lack of motivation.
Please go and speak to your GP and don't get fobbed off.
I'm listening to Davina McCall's menopausing audiobook at the moment and it's so insightful x

@Flamingle18 thanks for replying. Can’t believe I forgot about the headaches and lack of motivation too. I am normally such a get up and go person but I have totally lost that and and feel so unmotivated! Will call GP and see what they say. Thank you x

You're very welcome, I hope the GP listens. Don't be fobbed off with antidepressants, insist on blood tests and scans if they say no to HRT x

I think it’s common to start peri in your 30s. It goes on bloody ages. I was all over the place from mid 30s on. I guess our bodies are always in a state of flux.
