Weird phonecall behavior

Please help me think clearly...

Partner and I were on the phone last night. He was in a hotel near airport as leaving for a Stag Do at 3am. We were on video call and I could tell he kept texting other people and seemed distracted. This upset me as he's about to go away for a week and I would expected he give me his attention while we were on the phone. Anyway I told him I found it rude, that I expected his attention while on the phone. He said he was organizing things for his travel.

I ended up apologising and we both mutually agreed I was overreacting due to hormones ...

The more I think about it the more pissed off I am that actually this is really unreasonable, that he should have apologized...

My last relationship was an abusive one so it's hard to set personal boundaries and be clear. Was I overreacting, or was he in the wrong?

Thats so rude and I would have commented the same. But equally if you were going on a bit and he had stuff to sort out he should have said sorry love but I need to go after a long enough chat. If it was just a quick chat and he still couldn't give you 5 interrupted minutes of his time then YANBU.

Oh and never blame stuff on your hormones. It devalues women everywhere.

Totally agree with this. I hate it when a woman blames her hormones.

mutually agreeing it’s down to your hormones is even worse - feels like he’s forced you into accepting blame.

It could be that he was busy and excited to go away. I wouldn't take it personally. He probably didn't even realise he was doing it.

Also agree with others, don't blame yourself Biscuit

Does he usually apologize?

It is strange he didn't just say sorry as his behavior was rude.
