Most of the listing info is rubbish (worse even than ebay), you can't see the pictures properly unless you click in the item, it doesn't actually seem particularly cheap and to top it off, I did buy something but can I find it anywhere on my profile now? Nope. I've spent 30mins googling how and I still can't find it. I know it's geared up for sellers, not buyers but surely being able to see what you bought is vital? I think this will be my first and last foray.

I had a look for the first time this afternoon.
There seemed to be a lot of Primarni and George at Asda. The items often looked like they’d been picked up off the floor and thrown haphazardly onto a wonky coat hanger.
There’s no way to tell what the fabric is, and the colour in the description doesn’t always tally with the appearance in the poorly taken / blurry photo.
Apart from that it looks fine …

I'm finding Vinted quite annoying.
I like eBay I can't seem to find a way to save searches properly so that I get an email if the specific thing is listed, unless I'm missing it?
I don't find the search function as good, and last time I bought something the app glitched and I ended up accidentally buying two of the same thing from different sellers as it listed one as suddenly sold (but not to me!).

MadAboutIt · 06/08/2023 17:09

I don’t get it either op.
I’ve bought one thing which did go smoothly enough, I also now can’t see that item.
I find stuff ridiculously overpriced on there, I look occasionally but I just can’t take to it.

I only started using the Vinted app recently to buy and have bought plenty of branded dresses in very good condition that I can use in work, and haven’t paid more than £6 including postage. I’m just waiting for a delivery of a pair of lovely leather shoes in excellent condition that cost £9 including delivery.

I love it!

Lapflop · 06/08/2023 17:32

I don't mind it but I don't think it's as great as some people make out. The app is quite annoying to use, you take a gamble when you buy as you have to pay for returns even when faulty, and lots of people still charge loads. I tend to just use it if there's something very specific I have in mind as I find a lot of the listings have better descriptions than ebay and it's clearer what they are. I can see why people don't like it though, not sure why some PPs have been so defensive!

This may help www.vinted.co.uk/help/25-buying-step-by-step

I’ve put better stuff than that in the bin, I’d be too ashamed to take it to the chazza.

Moredarkchocolateplease · 06/08/2023 18:21

I think it's great.

I only ever search the brands I like:

J Crew
Sweaty Betty
Born Nouli
Whistles
COS

I know what size I am and I look at the photos zoomed in to see bobbling or snags on the fabric etc.

I've had some super bargains.

@Mollytabbyfur why did you resurrect this random zombie??

SamW98 · 06/08/2023 18:38

I love it. I only buy
Never Fully Dressed or Nobody's Child at a fraction of the cost price, wear once the MM sell for pretty much what I paid so constantly have new outfits for very little outlay.

Ive also bought 3 pairs of new with tags Adidas Gazelles for less than half the price in shops.

Everything I put on for sale goes within a day or two

SamW98 · 06/08/2023 18:39

Dreadful predictive text above but you get my gist

Mollytabbyfur · 07/08/2023 21:38

The comments here from people implying it's obvious how to see all your orders are being very narrow minded as they seem to all be describing the solution on the App. Well Vinted have a website too which has a totally different way of finding orders and not at all obvious or instinctive.
To help people with the question of how to find your orders the answer is:
Go to the top right of the page and click on the '?'. Then choose Home which is on the left side of the screen which then brings up all your orders with the title 'Get Help With Your Orders'. This is a very simple way of seeing all your orders and making sure you don't miss any as the messages/inbox could have orders mixed up with all sorts of other correspondence not just your orders. Same as your emails. So easy to miss one and then too late realise it never arrived which is a very often occurence on Vinted.
